THE HATEA RIVER WALK - From The City To Whareora Road.
As mentioned on the Home Page the Hatea River Walk runs from the city at the Aquatic Centre following the river bank, to the exit onto Whareora Road. From there it continues through the A.H. Reed Memorial Kauri Park, about one kilometer up Whareora Road. In this section whe take a photographic look at the section from the car park at the Aquatic Centre in the city, to Whareora Road.

You can begin your walk over the Mangrove Boardwalk at the back of the Aquatic Centre car park.
The exit from the Mangrove Boardwalk onto vale road. walk down the road and you cxome to a staircase up to ewing Road.
The track follows the river bank past Mair Park on the opposite side of the river.

The track passes through tree fern bush.
The track winds its way through the tree ferns - Cyathea medullaris (Silver Fern).
